Injection on iwl5k

While trying to get a usb rt2780 to work i pulled a (stable) copy of compat wireless from http://www.orbit-lab.org/kernel/comp...6.32.8.tar.bz2. After trying to make a deb out of it (and failing) i ended up just compiling and installing old school. Although my particular 2870usb didnt want to work, i did discover that my intel 5100agn now injects with no issues whatsoever. Might be worth adding to the next kernel update

Kernel 2.6.34 (RC2 for now) delivers fixed Broadcom b43 drivers, and allows injection with 4315 and 4312 chipsets. This kernel is currently in testing, and should be out of RC stages in a couple of months. As of now, it seems that the future transition of BackTrack to this kernel will bring a significant amount of improvements, as well as a more mature mac80211 stack.

This probably means that if backtrack finally gets to this new kernel the problems with IWL 5K should be automatically fixed. But this is a long time to wait, so thanks for your post. I will probably use it when I need it. But currently there is no need.

Chances are that it will work "out of the box" or out of the repo with a new kernel version. I've done some testing with 33 and 34 with mixed results actually, intel cards are generally a PITA, but they seem to work with the newer kernels just fine. SquashFS and some other stuff doesnt play well after the upgrade, but i'm sure the devs know and either will or do have a solution.

I installed the latest unofficial development build with kernel 2.6.34-rc6, but still the same problem holds me back with iwl 5100.

After trying to fake-auth injection stops. Of course I have tried the wpa_supplicant workaround, but still no luck.
