USB Installation

Does anybody now if its a bug?

I tried to install BT4 from DVD to my USB Stick.
I used the Icon directly from the startscreen in BT4.
I choosed my land, timezone, name and password and I said it should be installed on the USB Stick. I really clicked on the Stick. 8GB
So after the long installation i tried to boot from the Stick, but nothing happens.
The next time I tried to start windows, there was only an error message
grub error 21.
So the installation was on my windows partition....
So now I have to install windows and all Programms again ;-(

No, most likely just the GRUB bootloader got installed to your internal HDD's MBR. If you selected the stick as a target for the BT4 system properly, the installer won't wipe out your complete XP install. Try to boot your XP installation disc into the recovery mode, execute "FIXMBR" (without the quotes) and reboot.

My opinion as well.
If you try the same procedure again pay attention on the step 7 in the ubiquity GUI installer. You have an ADVANCED button and there you point where the grub should be written.

Thanks for the Tip, but I instantly have installed all new on my Laptop.
Next time I will try that.
In Step 7 should I choose the USB Stick for the GRUB installation?

I'd anyway recommend a persistent LiveUSB install. Search for a video-tutorial by purehate over at the OffSec Blog
