Would you please link to this tutorial? I mean, otherwise nobody can tell you if you formatted the whole drive or not.

Maybe you should consider asking whomever wrote the tutorial you followed what the problem is?
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

Streaker I think you are on to something here, brilliant idea.
Maybe like asking the people that wrote a particular tool ( in BT) why it won't function.
To be successful here you should read all of the following.

If you are new to Back|Track
    Back|Track Wiki
Failure to do so will probably get your threads deleted or worse.

That would make sense, can't have that. You should be in Vegas by the way....
Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69

Well you are the person who should be able to answer the question.

If you just follow a tutorial without understanding what's going on, that is what you get.

I should be but I'm not. There isn't a covered bridge over the Mississippi and Bessie don't like crossing large rivers without the bridge being covered.

You're missing out on the 5000 foot line to get a badge though! I shit you not, the damn line goes almost all the way around the building, though it's being threaded through the building, then folds back on itself. I wanted to see the Joe Grand talk this morning, but they closed the doors, room was already full about 10 minutes after the talk time.

Sounds like there was more than 5000 feet there.

It sounds like you did format everything. GRUB should show you Windows XP. Did you resize the partitions with gparted or just overwrite the XP partition?
