No graphic mode?

Hi

hi I was using BT3 on one SONY Vaio where worked fine but not on HP pavilion dv2000did not. SO I decided to run on HP Pavilion BT4 and it works but in all optinos where I am selecting graphic mode I get only text mode .
Is it bug or am I doing something wrong or what to select. I want to use kismet etc programs thx for help

When you try to run startx what happens?
