i'm bumping just once..maybe someone has a clue
hey there. i have searched the entire forum threads and google and have yet to solve this problem in backtrack3.
this problem happens when i start metasploit msf3web under backtrack:
Booting WEBrick

Initializing the Metasploit Framework...

Ctrl-C to shutdown server

[2009-07-21 13:32:49] INFO WEBrick::HTTPServer#start: pid=3327 port=55555
it was suggested by someone that this is a kernel ipv4 & ipv6 issue, but i have failed fixing it. also some forum thread suggested i try using netstat to see if tcpserver is still listening in a subsocket and kill it.
i'm using backtrack3 final installed to my hard disk.
please help!

So what happens when you try and connect to "hxxp://127.0.0.1:55555" in your web browser?
Capitalisation is important. It's the difference between "Helping your brother Jack off a horse" and "Helping your brother jack off a horse".
The Forum Rules, Forum FAQ and the BackTrack Wiki... learn them, love them, live them.
up and running.. but when i try to exploit a local non patched server it fails..it's faking..
but when i run metasploit 3 under a shell the error is not shown and is not faking when i try to exploit a local xp machine.
