    Question Greetings my fellow backtrackers

I'm very new to Backtrack, I booted off the live CD that I made just last night, and this looks like a marvelous operating system!

However, I am having some connectivity issues. On Ubuntu and Vista I can plug my LAN cable in and connect to the internet instantly, but it seems to be not so easy on Backtrack. When I run ifconfig it just shows me my local loopback interface, not eth0 as it does on Ubuntu

I'm using Backtrack 3, and have searched the forums and googled multiple times but am unable to find a solution to my problem.

Any help would be very much appreciated, thankyou
