    Default can not connect to internet via wicd

    hi i been trying to connect to internet with wicd the first time when i install bt4 pre final i could but now i can not. I even try to use manual but no chance i been searching on google for few days now but nothing , i use windows 7 can connect to internet very easy also i use live cd ubuntu9.04 easy connect, i tried wicd on ubuntu 9.04 wasn't able to connect to internet but with gnome network manager easy to connect, is there anyway that i could install gnome network manager without internet connection on backtrack4

    In the meantime you can get an internet connection going as follows:

    Linux Internet Connection - Virjacode
    Ask questions on the open forums, that way everybody benefits from the solution, and everybody can be corrected when they make mistakes. Don't send me private messages asking questions that should be asked on the open forums, I won't respond. I decline all "Friend Requests".

    Virchanza, you should really update that page to show more on wpa_supplicant as well now, doubt that many people are going to have WEP these days !

    (If you want to connect to WPA, find out about "wpa_supplicant", it won't be discussed here)
    I happen to agree with him (hating wpa_supplicant as I do), let someone else talk about it, WEP is easy to test and a good example of command line usage.
    Still not underestimating the power...

    Your syntax is wrong it should be # service networking start

    WAP is for kiddies unless you're using a DS, they mostly use web TKIP.

    Can you conenct trough ethernet ? (Byany chance you turned on the wlan)
