I'm seeing the request to start Kismet Server and it errors out.
This did not happen in BT3.
Is this a new version of Kismet ?
Is there a way to get it to act like it did in BT3 ?
Thanks

I'm not exactly sure where I should be posting these messages.
Kismet appears to have a bug in the BT4 release. It acts very different from the BT3 version.
It tries to start a server, which it never did in the BT3 version.
I'm not sure why there is such a big difference. They don't even look like the same program.
In any case, it crashes and says it can't find the wifi0, which BT3 loads fine.
Also, Spoonwep is gone in BT4.
I would like to use BT4 since it loads, but without a working Kismet and without spoonwep I don't have much choice but to use BT3.
Why BT3 stops loading after the first 2 files I can't understand.
I was thinking it was the video, but I tried every option and it just hangs after the first 2 files are extracted.
Anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks
Bill
Kismet starts a server in BT3 (edit: as well..) ... it has to because kismet has always been a server/client model. It looks different because it has been upgraded to a newer version. Make sure you have your interface in monitor mode (which is necessary at least for my EeePC) and can sniff with, say, airodump. Then attempt it with kismet - also check the kismet.conf file to make sure you have the correct interface line in there.
Still not underestimating the power...
There is no such thing as bad information - There is truth in the data, so you sift it all, even the crap stuff.
How many threads are you going to start on this subject?
I told you yesterday the new kismet is called kismet new core.
Read up on it.
As was mentioned above it has always been a client/server model tool.
And if you would spend half as much time reading here on the forums as opposed to making multiple threads on the same issue you would know what happened to spoonwep.
