Exclamation Black screen / freeze in BT3, but not in 2 or 4

I am running an Averatec laptop with a SIS M741 video chip.

It boots BT2 in VESA mode if I use the XCONF command before running the STARTX and it boots BT4 in safe video mode, but it will not boot BT3

It extracts the first 2 files with the ............ across the screen, and then the text should start scrolling down the screen, but it just sits there.

I was able to get one error to appear:

Kernel Panic - Not Syncing: Attempted to Kill Init!

    Can anyone help ?

So if it works with the latest that has ( as of know ) less bugs and security holes then why use the old one?
In other words whats the real problem?
BTW this is not a bug or a fix, again please pay attention to post in the right sections.
