My Sound works just fine, it is just the volume is really low when you first boot up.

Default You too can have sound!

I had the same low volume issue at first but found out in order to work around it all I had to do was open kmixer and turn the volume up a bit, it saved the volume setting on reboot (hd install).

As for the original 'no sound' question the thread was started under, there are multiple threads on this issue, the best one being "backtrack-4-bugs-fixes/23662-no-sound-after-installation . html"

the first questions to ask yourself is: are you logging in as root? root should have sound. then check kmixer for volume and go from there via the instructions on the above thread. If root does have sound, all that needs to happen is give your non-root account sound permissions (i.e. adding the account to the proper groups, etc) which is very well explained in the aforementioned thread.
