Ok this time I have searched google and this forum and found nothing. I have an ATI Xpress 200M graphics card and am trying to get the drivers installed. First I tried the 9.2 and 9.3 proprietary linux driver. After I installed startx went to a black screen so I rebooted and typed the suggested aticonfig --initial -f and attempted to log in. After this command, instead of black screen I got a grey screen which honestly isn't much better.
Then I tried doing an apt-get install ati-driver, but that failed saying
So does anybody have any suggestions on how to get this card installed or is it not possible?Setting up ati-driver (9.5-bt1) ...

As stated on this page the X200 is not supported by the 9.5 or newer driver.
What is written in the X server's log file when using the 9.3 driver? Did you configure the X server after installing the driver?
