I can't open sites

Hi all!
I have just installed the BackTrack4 (pre) final, and when i want to browse with firefox i can open only google, but no other sites.
I use LAN connection with my SiS190. I think i've made everything alright. I have ping to every site but still can't open em. This is global problem to me. I mean i have it not only in BT4(pre)Final but in all BTs and in some other Linux distributions.
I have ASUS M51VR

and i forgot to add.. if i connect through WiFi i can open all the sites...

Not sure if this will help but on BT4PF my lan doesn't boot. I have to open a terminal
and type

sudo ifconfig eth0 up
sudo dhclient eth0

Not considering the OP posted he could ping various sites across the network.

OP Do you have "no-script" turned on making pages not appear?
Try using lynx browser or Konqueror and see what happens.
Command line

# lynx http://www.google.com

hit enter.
