Intel(R) 82566MM Gigabit Ethernet Network Connection

I own an Acer TravelMate 6492 which has a Intel 82566MM Gigabit Ethernet Network Connection alongside an Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN. It seems that when i "ifconfig eth0 up" the controller comes up with the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN MAC Address instead of the Intel 82566MM Gigabit Ethernet Network Connection MAC Address which is unexpected because this is contrary to behaviour in BackTrack 2 & 3. I have looked through GUI device config panels in the "StartX" environment and the Intel 82566MM Gigabit Ethernet Network Connection isn't shown.

That doesn't sound right at all.. iwl4965 should appear as wlanX not ethX

Paste your lspci -k output along with iwconfig output.
