What if you are using BT4 and you have Gerix installed... But the GUI will not work??
When i click on it, nothing happens and the program does not open
The following worked for me.
1. Download the .tar not the .deb
2. untar the package.
3. mv it to /usr/share
3. cd /usr/share/gerix-wifi-cracker-ng-r20
4. sudo python gerix.py
5. put your card in monitor mode using the UI. My card is wlan0
It Works!
I had no luck whatsoever thinking that this was installed on BT4. You have to install it manually in any case.

che faccio?
easy way to get it working is as follows:
this will work even if it isn't installed
open console
apt-get update
apt-get install gerix-wifi-cracker
as long as you have an internet connection, this will fix it for you
buc will open, just close it out, and the gerix-wifi-cracker will be pinned to your menu
if you need to enable networking:
/etc/init.d/networking start
hope this helps
yup at least this program runs but I haven't much time to configure it
do a search in the forums for gerix, and find the tutorial, you only need to know how to get your wireless card's MAC
type 'iwconfig' in a terminal to list your wireless extensions
then if you see your wireless card.... mine is usually wlan0
type 'iwconfig wlan0'
this will give you your MAC, all the other info can be seen by using the gerix FE via gui,
I believe there is also a good tutorial on youtube
it's not as easy as spoonwep or spoonwpa, but it supports pyrit, which is nice if you have some nice graphics cards to take advantage of.
I'm still trying to get that to work with my dual nvidia 295's, but can't get the benchmark scores that i should be getting

The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering.
This may need to be directed to the Gerix author, but in case any of you have the answer i'll start here.
I have wlan0 and wlan1, in the information gathering tab, I put wlan1 into monitor mode, then click on 'start the network wireless mapping'.
But as I have no option to change anything, it attempts to perform the mapping with wlan0 instead of the wlan1/mon0
is there any way i can fix this?
I can still get the tool to work just fine with wlan1/mon0 by going into the 'save information' area at the bottom, so getting an answer on that really isn't critical.
Thanks and keep making the world a safer place!
