Did you start networking?
Did you configure your wireless card? One way is with wicd:/etc/init.d/networking start
Then configure the wireless network connection using K Menu-Internet-Wicd Network Manager/etc/init.d/wicd start
I can't go to any website on BackTrack 4. Is it supposed to be like that? Im using a wireless connection.

Capitalisation is important. It's the difference between "Helping your brother Jack off a horse" and "Helping your brother jack off a horse".
The Forum Rules, Forum FAQ and the BackTrack Wiki... learn them, love them, live them.
backtrack doesn't start networking by its own, it's an unwanted behaviour if you're trying to be quiet. You can go online via Menu -> Services -> NETWORK -> Start NETWORK, then Menu -> Internet -> Wicd.

hey man
you need to start the network first
start > services > network> start network
and then to see waht connections are availeble click on:
start > internet> wcid network manager
and just connect to your home access point (routher)
for any more questions, just ask

I think this howto will help you
Howto: How to configure your Network Card - Offensive-security.com
I can see my gateway through my Ethernet card and can connect but apparently my built-in wireless card does not work because it does not see any wireless network on Wicd manager, any help?
Some commands that would help in trouble shooting:
/etc/init.d/networking restart
ifconfig -a // Do you see wlan0 or wifi0 ?
iwconfig // this command will let you know if your wireless card is know by the system
omg theres another thread just like this one!!
check it out http://www.backtrack-linux.org/forum...-detected.html

simply open terminal and type in:
then u can use "wicd" from Internet menu.Code:start-network
Ok enough has been said about this issue. There was enough help and a simple search would have be enough to find an answer too.
