Do your research, there is a client contained in BT.
Hi,
I would like to remote control through LAN cable, so I don't need encryption or any security. I just need to see and use remote desktop
Can you suggest me a software?

I'm gonna use vnc, I think is the most popular and I can control pc from other OS when it's necessary because is plenty of client for VNC
anyway, now I've a problem using vnc4server or vncserver:
server can't run because of libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 is missing
Is there any "libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so" on the system? If so you can try just symlinking to it with the appropriate name .
I'm a compulsive post editor, you might wanna wait until my post has been online for 5-10 mins before quoting it as it will likely change.
I know I seem harsh in some of my replies. SORRY! But if you're doing something illegal or posting something that seems to be obvious BS I'm going to call you on it.
library libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 was missing and it wasn't easy to find it
I've installed it from libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2_2.95.4-27_i386.deb
but problems are not finished....
now there is a fatal server error
Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb'
This guy seems to have same problem. There are few suggestions as well which might help you. Cheers

I get solution installing libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 from libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2_2.95.4-27_i386.deb and using x11vnc because my server have very low graphic capability.
At client side doesn't matter, obviously!
Anyway from VNC mailing-list I received useful suggestion for whom has similar problem (for example Linux-x64 users):
thank a billion for your support! You can specify font path on vnc server command line like this :
vncserver -nohttpd -depth 8 -geometry 1280x972 -fp \
/usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1,/usr/share/fonts/X11/misc,\
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/freefont,\
/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu,\
/usr/share/fonts/X11/75dpi,/usr/share/fonts/X11/100dpi
This way you will not have directories that are absent in your font path.
Feel free to ignore irrelevant options.
Glad that it worked out for you and also that you did some research on your own![]()
