Hello guys..Does anybody knows if TP-LINK TL-WN422G with atheros chipset works with Backtrack4 prefinal?
How can i check if this product has an atheros or zydas chipset?

You don't need to buy the card to see if it is compatible just look on the internet. Do your research. It is the same as any other purchase you may make. You have the forums here that stores tons of info. There is ubuntu forums. Chances are someone has bought one and has made a post or two about it there. There is also google. If you can find the chip's fcc id number then you can also use this info on the net to find more info on the card.

the card works with injection and everything is sweet, although you may have to patch drivers or update firmware, I can't say for sure as I have not yet played with bt4preFinal.

I can tell you for another TP-link card i have TP-LINK TL-WN550G with atheros chipset + external antena small but better any then nothing and everything was doing fine under BackTrack 4 beta so i dont see reason to not work under BT4 pre final (i didnt try because i work with another card on BT4 pre final and sold computer with TP link wireless). Injection good signal not so bad but surfing in managed mode is not so good if AC point is in one room and your wireless in another, signal can vary from 24 to 48 MB/s. Also under ubuntu 9.04 if you buy my card patch driver ath_pci not ath5k_pci which is by default on ubuntu jaunty because signal sucks and monitor si freezing.

    Default I bought Tp-link WN422G

Well guys i took the risk...I bought Tp-link WN422G...But i was unlucky on the type of chipset...It has the zydas chipset "zydas1211rw or zd1211b"...
I test it with backtrack 4 prefinal...The injection worked perfectly...
I cracked a wep key easily as an atheros card can do...I think that this dongle is compatible with backtrack4 prefinal..
I didn't try to get a handshake in order to crack a wpa key...
Please check this in the forum
    hxxp://forums.remote-exploit.org/bt4beta-non-working-hardware/20452-tp-link-wn422g.html
I think that they have wrong...
I am waiting for your comments...
If someone has this dongle it would be nice to have his/her opinion....
Thank you all guys..special thanks to archangel amael...

Yes, It is working with BT4 Pre Final, I have tested it today on WEP. It works out of box. I'll check it on WPA and will update you.
