Default backtrack 3 problems on USB

    Hello all,

i recently upgraded my USB drive from backtrack 2 to 3, and it will boot but it hangs in the GUI at this: "floppy drive FD0 is 1.44M" in almost those terms and hangs and goes no further. I have tried all options in the boot menu and nothing gets further, even safe mode. I checked the MD5sum and redownloaded multiple times, what should I try next to get it booted. I have googled and searched the forum for this problem but everyone seems to get into backtrack, and google leads to a lot of answers in a different language?

    Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated!

What do you mean by upgrade exactly?
Also do you have a floppy drive? Do you need this drive, or can you turn it off in the bios?
Also are you sure your computer is compatible? Might want to try the wiki for more info.

I would start from a fresh USB instead of "upgrade", (God knows what that means) and follow one of the tuorials here to install BT3. If you ask me:
    1) Format USB key under windows OS
    2) Download BT3 USB iso version & use winrar to decompress it.
    3) Copy the folders (should be 2) to the USB.
    4) Run boot>bootinst.bat in your USB.
