Have you tried gksu autoscan-network?
I've been running into this issue and i found that it only happens on some networks - seems to only happen when it queries some specific asset on the network. restarting the app doesn't help, nor does running as root. However it works fine on my company net, but fails miserably on my home network which has nothing but a simple router and a couple of PCs. Odd... both are 192.168 networks...
Any ideas?
