Boot backtrack then attach your USB device then run

    ifconfig rausb0 up
    iwconfig rausb0 mode monitor
    airodump-ng rausb0

    Cheers

the adapter may be malfunctioning as you are talking.after properly booting RT73 chipset.just do this
    modprobe -r rt73usb
    modprobe rt73usb
    and it should show rausb0

Pathetic, you have now gone to begging for help.
You have been given the answers in this thread. It is up to you to read and understand them. If you can't then you probably should not be using BT.
Or just go buy a card that is known to work "out of the box".
To be successful here you should read all of the following.

Failure to do so will probably get your threads deleted or worse.

Yes it is...... however generally BT newbie are more intelligent than windows newbie and are expected to have some research capability....... this is like sitting for an admission test to get entry to the univ. If you fail, you are not allowed to study in the univ. Same here... if you can't solve simple problems and can't follow simple instructions then maybe this is not your forum...
