Asus Eee PC 1000H Touchpad not working.

Out of the box, the touchpad on my Asus Eee PC 1000H isn't working at all unlike with BT3. Is there any extra configuration that's needed to enable it?

Strange - just booted bt4 beta of an sd card on my 1000H and the touchpad works fine
Both with KDE ie startx and FVWM bt4-crystal modes
Doesn't auto detect the ralink wifi card but my WUSB54GC usb card was detected as wlan0 and injects Suspect need to load ralink drivers to get internal wifi card working although still waiting on the rt2x00 serial monkey project to get injection working - will update once i get a chance to load the ralink drivers

Hmm, It doesn't seem to be picking up my eee 701 touchpad either.

Hmm... after loading it up again today and playing around with it, my touchpad seems to be working fine. Can't say what made it decide to recognize it this time, but I'm happy it works now anyway!

My EEEPC901 trackpad wont work with the USB boot, but works fine with the HDD install.
And Audio working great! - unlike BT3

Touchpad didn't work off a live dvd on my 901 either. Will try HD install (to Runcore SSD) to see if works...

If the touchpad freezes during install, just ignore it and use a usb mouse. It will work when you reboot from hard drive. I installed it to a partition on the ssd using Mutt's howto. Works flawlessly on an eee 901 with a gigabyte wireless card installed and even I have elements of Compiz working.

I've had issues with the touchpad lately, sometimes it works fine and other times it can take like 3 reboots for it to be working/detected.

I've tried several ways to fix it.

1. Added settings to xorg.conf

2. Updated the xorg-server from the repository
3.Tried acpi-scrpits from eeeuser.com - these made things worse!!
4.Updated the BIOS to the latest one from ASUS
Have forgotten what else I tried.

So what others are saying is quite right, there are problems with the touchpad on the 1000HE.
