Thread: BT3 USB cant boot from my stick

    I'd just do a fat32 and ext3 partition. Swap will burn out the drive faster. For my "installs" I do a 1Gb fat and the rest ext3 for the changes partition. You could do a third fat partition for windows support if you want though.
    Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69

    Hello, no only my laptop can boot from usb sticks.
    And new drivers? Hmm I dont think so but I search now.

    When I found no drivers, I'll test it with 2 fat32 and 1 ext3 like barry.

    And no it dosent work.
    Tomorrow I install winxp again. Because now it give's drivers for the mainboard, wlan and more. I hope it will work than.
    Or anybody have a idea?

    Wuhu now I can login in backtrack3.
    But..how can I install it? Im on the desktop via Vesa KDE but cant see any Button to install it.

    There are several tutorials here. Just find one that you think suits your purposes and follow it.

    Hey, I found a tut., this: offensive-security.com/documentation/backtrack-hd-install.pdf
    But I create the partitions on my USB-Stick and not on my HDD.
    I do it like this tut.

    Again follow a tutorial from the here on the forums.
    As for doing your partitions the tutorial should tell you how it was done.
    You can adjust accordingly.
    The grunt work is up to you. If you are unsure you might want to stick with something else.

    The problem is, I cant use my WLAN-Stick. Backtrack cant find the driver and I give only drivers for vista.

    Today I found a driver for win xp. Any way to use a win xp driver on backtrack 3?
