I recently installed backtrack4 pre-final on my ubuntu notebook.

After installing I realised that my splash-screen (on ubuntu, not backtrack!) was missing during boot.

Fix:
When installing bt4 to disk, it will overwrite the grub already installed and leaves out the "splash" option at the end of the ubuntu paragraph in /boot/grub/menu.lst.

So, you only need to add it at the end and remove the "vga 0x3** to have ubuntu booting look nice and winblows-like again..
