    Default Boot Problem.

    Hello, i'm new here.

    Anyway, ive burnt BT2 and BT3 onto dvd, and i get this error when booting up.

    Fatal error occured - BT3 data not found
    You are maybe using an unsupported boot device (eg. SCSI or old PCMCIA).
    Workaround: Copy the directory BT3 from your boot device to an IDE/SATA
    dist, eg. to /mnt/hda1/BT3 or C:\BT3. Then try to boot again.

    I've tried burning both images again at 2x, and both md5sums are fine.

    I did some searching, but found no real solution to the problem. Although strangely, i did try using the BT4 beta, and that booted up perfectly fine?(strange)

    I'm new to using Backtrack, so i didnt fancy using a version which is in beta(as good as it may be! )

    Any ideas?

    This isnt like a vista beta or something, and you better get used to 4 if you plan on sticking with it as the kernal has changed.

    bt2-bt3 = slax

    bt4 = ubuntu

    Also i dont know how much more help we can give you, you pretty much posted what needed to be done.

    Using backtrack for the first time is like being 10 years old again with the keys to a Ferrari.

    The DVD thing, i just noticed that its actually the other way around, BT2/3 are on CD, and 4 is on DVD.

    Sounds pathetic, but if it works ill let you know.
