    Default Running Backtrack3 from a cd

    Hi
    I am newbie to this.
    I'm running Backtrack3 from a cd but when I run the program I haven't got
    any graphics ie the icons in the task bar.

    Can anyone help

    Did you use Linux before? Maybe it is not the best idea to just start your Linux experience with BT. Take Ubuntu and find your way around in there. Learn how to use the command line and how Linux is working. Get the basics and then come back to BT. It will make it really easier to use if you know the Linux basics.

    startx should do it
    Using backtrack for the first time is like being 10 years old again with the keys to a Ferrari.

    Thanks for your replies, but I've solved it by burning the iso onto another cd.
