password dictionary help

i was wonder if any one could help me out, im trying to find out how to put a new password directory into back track 3 final,im pretty knew to this , though im a quick learner ,any help or pointers would be greatfully appreciated ,thanks to all that took the time to read this.

I am going to suppose that you really meant BT4 final, because other versions are no longer supported. As for making a directory you can do so from the command line by using

# mkdir   see the man page for more info # man mkdir

also assuming that you are running the CDROM or BOOT media and you got stuck because it wont stay persistent...

you need to re-author your media with casper (likely too complex for discussions right now) or just install the distro to a hard disk or create a boot-able hard disk with persistence, or a boot-able USB and copy your dictionary to the USB with non persistence

then once you have a booting USB or hard disk, copy or download your dictionary to the linux OS

Looks like you need to find some Linux Basics or Linux Intro docs and do some reading. You should start by looking up the following as a minimum:

cp - copy
ls - list
mkdir - make directory
mount - mount a file system (or drive)
cd - change directory
