Nvidia problem

Hi

I have just done a fresh install of bt4 and the only thing that i cant get to work properly is my Nvidia card.

Here are some details

last things to mention im using drivers got through apt get

apt-get install nvidia-glx-177

which are listed to work with my type of card.
Im using the module nv right now but that cant get me any direct rendering and such.

So any help appriciated i've been searching through google but without luck.
If any more outputs are needed just say so.

If you're really having issues with your gfx drivers, you can always try envyng

apt-get install envyng-core

Its gotten me out of some pretty annoying situation in the past. Will probably do what you need.

I've been trying to get the name of that utility , but couldnt remember (i know it fixed the problem in Ubuntu) hope it will work Thanks

I always have much better luck with the drivers from nvidias web site rather than package management.

it says something like no precompile kernel headers etc etc .. soo im thinking its a bad symlink to the kernel . but nvm it says that 173 nvidia should be recomended so ill just try to apt-get it

Go directly to nvidia's website and get the drivers then follow their guides for installation. I have done the same and it works out better than apt-get does it.

I got it working yesterday

The thing was i had to apt-get the drivers and then download from Nvidia site the SAME driver(180.22 in my case) reset x run the downloaded one and woala
