I should read up a little more about his whitehat activities. I read mostly about his legendary blackhat activites, and it is amazing how one person can hide from the FBI for two and a half years.

I can totally agree with you. Hiding from the law is not that hard when only city and state police are involved. On the other hand, I think the FBI can obtain far greater resources when they get involved in looking for a person. I believe that hiding from the FBI is harder than it sounds.
