Broadcom 4318 on Acer 5000 works.
I have a Broadcom 4318 adapter on my Acer Aspire 5000 laptop, wich is listed as "unstable" on the drivers' webpage hxxp://bcm43xx.berlios.de/?go=devices , as "supported" on hxxp://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#supported , and described as "not being able to inject packets on this tested cards list": hxxp://backtrack.offensive-security.com/index.php?title=HCL:Wireless#Broadcom_BCM4318_802. 11b.2Fg .
I also read a few posts of people having managed to make this card work fully (i.e: hxxp://forums.remote-exploit.org/showthread.php?t=18167&highlight=4318&page=2 ) on other laptop models. As I am rather stubborn, I wanted to try and see for myself so I ran the injection test and it works :
#aireplay -9 -b (AP_mac_address) -h (my_mac_address) (my_interface)
I then managed to retrieve the wep key for 2 differents routers, injecting and getting about 400 IVs per second.
Hope this post will help out any fellow owner of an Aspire 5000.
