The driver is fine in BT4-PreFinal, no need to go playing with it.
Yes it is. It works excellent, but I still get better sensitivity with the legacy driver. If you would like to use the legacy driver in BT4PF it's available in the repo's.

First blacklist the rtl8187 and then

apt-get install r8187-drivers (remeber it's for BT4 Pre Final > kernel 2.6.29)
