was this after you upgraded your install?
So only a short while after I installed BT4 to hard drive, I restarted and for some reason isntead of loading the KDE interface anymore it stayed at gray screen and had one thing I could do: left click anywhere and a list of Utilities would come up for fvwm... the only remedy I found for this was installing kubuntu from the bt4-crystal fvwm start... then I restart and Kubuntu starts. Mind you I had to edit a file so I could log in as root before I could do anything, but it sucks becuase I don't have all the cool sound effects and the task menue is now missing a lot of items under the Backtrack> folder. They are still on my computer and commands work to run them but it makes it a pain in the ass. If anyone know's how to help please let me know.
