    Default inSSIDer Wi-Fi network scanner

inSSIDer from metageek, it seems like a pretty useful tool with nice visual graph lets you quickly align your antenna with your AP to get best signal if you’re working from a distance, and bunch of other neat features haven’t played with it much but for those of you that work with wifi it might come in handy. check it out - metageek.net

    According to their web page:

inSSIDer is an award-winning free Wi-Fi network scanner for Windows Vista and Windows XP.
You do realize that backtrack is not Windows? Unless you plan to port the tool to linux yourself, I don't see it getting included anytime soon.

there is Kismet. I don't see any reason you should wish to include any duplicating functionality, even if there was a version for linux, it still will not come even close to standing on it's knees next to Kismet.

Inssider still has better support for the wispy/wireless scanner functionality. I think inssider is a really good replacement for netstumbler, which has really stagnated in the last few years.

Maybe one of those really cool mod guys could move this thread over to the general it section?
Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69
