    Default Help with intel wireless/pro 3945ABG and BT4

    Hi,

    BT4 succesfuly installed on my dell inspiron 1505/6400
    i tried different solution to add/install or configure my wireless card...but ive been unsuccesful

    i'm new to debian-based linux, but used to rpm-based distro.
    here's what i tried:

    sudo apt-get install build-essential
    sudo apt-get install libssl-dev

    downloaded with wget the ipwraw-ng
    went to its dir.

    make
    sudo make install
    sudo make install_ucode
    echo "blacklist ipwraw" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/ipwraw
    sudo depmod -ae

    sudo modprobe -r ipw3945
    sudo modprobe ipwraw

    and it doesnt show up in iwconfig...what to do ???

    None of this is necessary in Backtrack 4, all you need to do is

    Code:
    airmon-ng start wlan0
    and it will create the mon0 interface. You now have wlan0 in managed mode and mon0 in monitor mode.

    did u try "/etc/init.d/NetworkManager start"? like thunderwing said none of this is necessary cause all the drivers are already there.
    Until they become conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious...

    hi,

    does this mon0 interface makes my intel 3945 able to do packet injection ?

    yes and please do more research before posting next time.

    tanks for the post .there is still people using bt3 and want the know how to install ipw3945 drivers
