    Default internal atheros not recognized

ok my buddy has a Sony Vaio VGN-NS110E.

We can't get his internal card to work no matter what we try.

lspci tells us its an unrecognized atheros card.

i cant find his model number anywhere (google, here, even on his laptop, ect)

Does anyone know where to start to try and figure out the model number and then to get the card to work?

You must have Atheros 5418 a/b/g/n card which is having some supporting issues as OpenHAL don't support it but there is a special branch with support for AR5008 which is the same as AR5418 & Official support for the AR5008/AR5418 chipset has not yet been included in an official release of the madwifi-hal .check this thread and apply madwifi trunk release.

    Code:

I have a AR5008 and mine works fine, it connects and injects fine.

Have you tried updating madwifi-ng or have you checked the model nmber in Vista/XP as it'll give it to you without messing about. It may be the AR5007.
