    Default BIOS boot/menu/usb

i am sitting on a computer that can bring up a bios menu offering to boot from the usb; when i do that though, the computer thinks about it for a second before booting into windows xp. is there a work around for this?

Plug in a bootable usb stick before you select the option to boot from usb.

i did that, i am switching between 3/4 diff computers; this one is the one that wont boot from usb or cd or anything else as far as i can tell. i can get a boot menu w/ those options, cannot get it to actually boot from them though. its a cruzer sandisk(16gb) i have tried, and a liveDVD also failed to boot.
