Adams Kernel in BT4

i have eeepc 900a with backtrak 4.

I try to install the Adam kernel to try fix some problem of eeepc.

There's someone that try to do this?

You'll end up breaking more than it will fix. The BT kernel is already customized for all the software installed.

The only two posts i see on adams kernel are this one and:

Just wondering if anyone else has got it working as Jerror has. I get a kernel panic when trying to use it. What does it break? Why does he seem to have it working fine?

Can you be more descriptive about the problem? I reccomend installing grub to tinker with different kernels.

If you do not know what you are doing rebuilding the bt kernel will break alot of stuff. The reason many people around here don't notice is because the only surf the web and crack a little wep and never use all the super cool stuff in backtrack. SO if all you want is a "cool hacker" distro to show of to your hommies than by all means rebuild and you will probably never notice.

Edit: you'll have compilation problems even if u install the linux header files...

Edit: people bare with me im typing from a school computer. Gammark you can get the sources for the eeepc from the array site. they should have sources to compile the acpi for the eee and other hardware related problems. im sure you can find a dkms package but i havent tried to use them. it might install unrelated packages on your box.

Jerror, I have grub installed and have tried every possible entry with no luck, with the acpi scripts all is working fine so thanks for that, Ill stick with the original kernel tho since the boot times are good anyways.
