    Cool Alfa AWUS050NH USB

    Hey everyone,

Since no one on this forum has posted anything about the new Alfa AWUS050NH, I'll ask away. I read RE@LITY's post about the Alfa AWUS036-S and he mentioned it was a good one to get, but I was reading up on some of the latest news and found that the new Alfa AWUS050NH came out this month. Does anyone recommend this one?

Will it work with backtrack 3 or 4 and will it do injections and will it work with VM Ware? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It would really help us to answer this if you provided all the specs of this card.

I seriously doubt anyone is going to spend time doing the grunt work getting that info just so as they can answer your question.

    Form factor
    chipset
    power
    fcc-id
    link to the manufacturers datasheet

    all would be helpful

    ok here are some facts:

Ralink RT2770F Chipset , 1x TX 2x RX , one internal antenna, one external antenna
    maximum TX power:
    500mW at 2.4ghz
    150mW at 5ghz
    Pink/blue LED light (kiddi-disco )
usb windows mount is included in the package ...

comes with a Dualband Antenna !

and this is really important: if you switch the antennas YOU MUST USE THE RIGHT ANTENNA ! if you use 5ghz , DONT use a 2.4ghz antenna ... it may destroy the device on the long run ...
for 5ghz operation use either an dualband antenna or a 5ghz antenna !

I have send a factory sample to max from the backtrack developer team end of february, it should work with backtrack4 beta already or will work very soon ...

for a manufacturer datasheet see below, some minor errors edited

i am not allowed to post the links directly due to my low message count

you can use the card with 24dbi yagi, but only in 2.4ghz mode !!

if you want to use 5ghz mode, you need a new 5ghz antenna !!! and these are much more expensive, because a 5ghz antenna is not easy to make in the backyard .... like most 2.4ghz antennas available ...

Again, sorry for so many questions, I just want to make sure I get the right equipment the first time.

I heard it runs in backtrack 3...but I do not know the results? Like is it really good compared to others?

I hope someone has one of these to tell us.
