BackTrack 3 HELP!!

ok so i'm 100% noob when it comes down to it,
i have read all the other forum topics on this issue but i'm so noob i still don't know whats going on

i'm running BT3 from vmware workstation on my windows xp computer

i have a zd1211 wireless card and it doesn't work with bt3

i have downloaded all of the patches that people have linked to but as to how to install these i don't have any idea at all

all these codes and stuff you need to type in have gotten me stumped

is there a way i can get someone to remote assistance my pc and do this for me as ppl have said it's an easy patch

Personally I think you're operating outside of your IT comfort zone. I'd suggest playing with Ubuntu (or similar) for a while and getting a good handle on a more general Linux before taking on a specialized distro aimed at a niche audience.

I havent used VMWare Workstation very much (I normally use Server) but unless Workstation can provide the ability to give direct and exclusive use of the Wireless card to the Bakctrack VM then you probably wont be able to access the wireless card from Backtrack.

If you specifically want to use wireless tools you will need to boot the laptop direct into Backtrack, if you just want the Backtrack environment to have IP network/Internet access you could use a bridged/NAT'ed virtual interface for the VM.

You probably need to gain at least basic familiarity with the Linux command line before you can use Backtrack effectively...

just to give you a heads up, this is going to be a long process and it's going to take alot of effort on your part. if you are looking for an "easy way out" you are far from it. you first need to gain a grasp of linux and the command line.. or as you put it "codes". if you dont feel up to the challenge you should look into cain and able for windows. a good linux forum aimed at "noobs" is ubuntu forums. Also letting a complete stranger remote into your computer is a VERY bad idea.

also you can go to barns and noble and find a 2600 magazine, look in the back. there are meetups in alot of cities, you's might be in there. it wouldnt hurt to go hang out with some real people who can give you tips and advice.
