Question Problem with network cards not being recognized

Screw what I had earlier. I've been poking around and gotten somewere. I start up Wicd Manager. When I click my ssid its stops at obtaining IP info. When I tried running it through cmd heres what I returned

    root@bt:~# modprobe wlan0
WARNING: Not loading blacklisted module rt73
    FATAL: Module wlan0 not found.
root@bt:~# iwconfig wlan0 essid (my ssid here)
    root@bt:~# ifconfig wlan0 up
    root@bt:~# dhcpcd wlan0
    err, wlan0: timed out
err, wlan0: lease information file `/var/lib/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-wlan0.info' does not exist
    warn, wlan0: using IPV4LL address 169.254.35.227
root@bt:~# dhcpcd.sh: interface wlan0 has been configured with new IP=169.254.35.227

    What do you think

Q-tip. Next time mention this in your first post. Then there would be no need for the second third or even this one.

Meh...I want to type something else but part of the falt lies with me for not quoting your original text which didn't include that. Glad you got it working. There's a lot of good information in the How-To forums that you can check out that has other common questions like this one. Best of luck to you.
