Alfa AWUS036H (rtl8187) Ettercap

Seems ettercap not want to run with the Alfa AWUS036H (rtl8187) interface
When starting in text mode, the console freezes and you get a fatal error.

after looking few hours, i found out that you have to be connected first to an ap.
then it works.
