    Default Custom Live CD

    Hi, I'm working on customizing my Backtrack 4 Beta live cd. So far i have managed to add files to Desktop/home folder. Now I have a few other things i need help with. First alsamixer. By default the volume is at 100%. Where is this value saved? I would like the volume to be completely muted.
    Second. How would I proceed to set it up to auto login root and auto startx? Thanks in advance

    how are you editing the live cd? ive been trying to figure out how to do that, as I want to install the gnome desktop environment instead of KDe. any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated

    install it to your hdd then start customizing?
