Persist Live CD state?

Hi all,

Newb here. I tried BackTrack for the first time ever today! I booted up the BackTrack 3 Final Live CD on an old windows laptop and ended up having *way* more fun than I expected! Thanks to everyone who put Backtrack together!

Anyway, I was wondering whether it's possible to save the Live CD state somehow, so that when I have to reboot, I don't lose the configuration and log files I've created over the course of this afternoon. I ask this because I assume all data is currently be stored in some sort of volatile RAM drive on my system - right?

Thanks for any help and sorry if this is a stupid question!
