    Default startx error

My specs Gateway mt-6840 dual core
160 GB Intel 940ML Express Integrated Graphics card.

Booting from usb to save changes. BT4 was working fine. Updated ALSA driver. After a couple of boots to start BT4 it get the following error.

    _XSERVTransSocketUnixCreateListener: ....SocketCreateListner( ) failed
    _XSERVTtansMakeA11COTSServerListners: server already running

    Fatal server error:

Cannot establish any listening sockets - Make sure an X server isn't already running

    giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (erno 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

Note: If I boot to Console No FB it works. When I boot to Console, it loads the error?

    Any help will be apprictated.

Check permissions and look for missing files, this is really odd that it will work fine w/o FB and not with FB... For the time and anguish, I would be inclined to copy over the directory structure and reinstall.

Most likely DCOPServer is causing this problem do you have any more error to post?

    Default startx error

    Thanks, Jerror

I was able to boot, but after I had to boot in Console No FB and delete changes to the syslinux.cfg vga=0318 then I rebooted into normal. But compiz and Alsa driver are missing, strange. No more errors. The Intel graphics card I have might be the issue, just a guess.

    Thanks for the response.
