I think it could possibly have something to do with a recent increase in awareness about the BT software as a whole. The introduction of more and more youtube videos of cracking how-tos that are all using elements of BT4, it seems like the discovery of BT itself is not far off. I myself am new to the forums and new to BT and can say that my introduction to BT came from exactly that path.

With increased awareness comes increased traffic. Included within that traffic is likely a varied assortment of different types of newbs, most offensively of which is the "forum newb" followed very shortly by, and likely even eclipsed in hideosness by the "lazy newb".

Anyhow, just a thought. A post by the site moderator as to whether or not with the increase in noob posts there has been an increase in site traffic as a whole would help back up my completely unfounded statements.

The OP is around for quite a long time and he has seen a lot of people come and go. Even I did that and can just say the OP is right. No Mod is needed to confirm that

I think it is also like many people have seen movies about "hackers" or as you mentioned some instruction vids.

Maybe one day people will learn that there is more behind it besides just pointing and clicking. That's the reason why there are a couple of voices around on this forum speaking against creating too many additional gui applications.

On the one hand they are conveniant for those who have the knowledge but they are also inviting too many people who do not have any clue at all and are too lazy to read anything.

More subforums perhaps? Part of me wants to dismiss the idea out of hand as I'm not much for playing to the lowest common denominators. At the same time breaking things down into forums that deal with the different categories, i/e a wep forum and a wpa forum etc etc. Like i said I don't like helping those who can't seem to help themselves, nor do i like suggesting someone else to (site mods), it might eliminate the "clutter" of useless posts.

I remember part of my frustration for quite a while when searching as to whether or not my intel 5100 card would work, and what i had to do to get it work came from searching google and finding thread after thread that ended in "it's already been andswered use the search function". Well I was using it but now it's so spammed up that it diminishes searching in the first place.

    Anyhow. Just some thoughts.

People don't post in the correct section now, it would just get worse with more subsections.
Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69

We know, we're replacing the server with a new machine.
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

That might beat the iPaq cluster Hp has for compiling linux packages for the iPaq linux group.
