MAC notice-bug

I wanted to report sth i have noticed using bt4 beta vmware image over Windows Xp with VMware Workstation. I write the following commands:

ifconfig wlan0 "my wifi adapter" down
macchanger --mac 00:11:22:33:44:55 wlan0
airmon-ng start wlan0

Then enable internet and connect using NetworkManager to a open router. After that i log to the router settings page and in connected wireless computers I see BT with the assigned by me MAC address and an ip assigned by the rooter. Then i go to my xp and use manual ip configure for the same network and just assign the used before ip, mask, and gateway, dns the ip of the router. I connect and in the rooter's page i remain the bt pc with the same MAC.

After a few resets of the router and dc's that the "problem" seemed persistent everything turned to normal. As of now I am still trying to replicate it.
