    Default help with backtrack 4 in vmware

    hello guys i have just downloaded bt4, i installed it in a virtual machine (vmware), but mi wireless network is not reconiced


    example:

    iwconfig: no wireless extension

    can someone help me plz

    First of all, you could start by telling us something more, like the name of your wireless card, if it worked with another OS.
    Second use "lspci" and see if your wireless card is recognized.

    If you want to use wireless card in virtual machine you need a USB device.

    lspci won't show his wireless card in vmware. It has to be a usb card for it to be recognized as a wifi device in vmware. Just like we say in the other ten thousand "my wifi doesn't work in vmware" threads.

    Well I assumed he knew that, because it's all over this form and google. I tought his wireless card is USB.

    Then he'd need to run lsusb.
