i managed to install BT3 on my sony viao . dual boot with vista .

for soem reason i'm not able to use the startx function.
error message : Is your VideoRAM set too low???

i have tried to change the setting in lilo to various vga setting but i'm not able to get startx working
when i use the live CD everything works ok
is there something i missed
can some one pls guide me
my actuall screen resolution is 1280x800 . i dont see that in the lilo config file

go through that thread.. maybe you burned the iso at a high rate and it missed something... or then again you might of have messed up somewhere

- Which video chipset do you have?
- How much RAM have you allocated to the video chipset?
- Have you tried adjusting the value to somewhere at least 16MB?
- Have you tried booting without compiz, etc? just used console and disable compiz?
