Realtek RTl8187b (inject\wpa)

hi

I have a Insys gameforce HD 8760 pc, that has Realtek RTL8187B wireless 802,11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network adapter. I have BT4 installed in a usb drive.
When i use de command "airmon-ng start wlan0" it says that the monitor mode has been aplyed to "mon0".
Should i use mon0 or wlan0 to airdump and aireplay?
I tried both, and both work with airdump but I can’t inject with none of them!!
Why?

When I use the command

aireplay-ng -0 1 -a (bssid) mon0

It deauth fine and I can get the handshake from wpa

But when I use in wep

aireplay-ng -1 0 -a (bssid) -e (ssid) wlan0 
Or
aireplay-ng -1 0 -a (bssid) -e (ssid) mon0

is says

"Sending authentication Request (open system)"

a lot of times till

Attack was unsuccessful.

Any ideas?

I cant connect to wpa

/etc/init.d/NetworkManager

And the globe stays green. I create a new connection with everything, and it starts trying to connect (globe disappear and appear another thing)... But it cant connect, the other thing that substitutes the globe stays there, but it stop trying to connect a (Device: wlan0 state: Disconnected).

Any ideas? plz need help

sounds like you actually have a broadcom chipset on your wlan card. Mine also does not work. I think its this version of aircrack, as my card works fine in BT3.
Get the latest DEV version of aircrack from the SVN - i'm gonna try the same.

The B43 modules are supposed to be pretty good compared with the old bcm43xx drivers...

I'm having basically the exact same problems as the OP. I have a TrendNet TEW-424UB USB with RTL8187b, and whenever I try to fake authentication with the access point it never works. I've managed to get the card into monitor mode, but it's slow. Also, in trying to fake the MAC, it seems like that Mac is faked on wlan0, but not on mon0, which is where monitor mode is enabled. But... does faking the mac even help? I've turned off mac filtering on my router.

ALSO, I've been using VMware this whole time, could that be causing the problems?

You should use mon0 but wlan0 works fine also. Just write
"iwconfig mon0 rate 2M mode monitor" and try
"aireplay-ng -1 6000 -o 1 -q 10 -a <target> -h <home> mon0".

i tried this but Authentication test still failed =/. oh well, I recently bought a new USB adapter so I'll just use that when it gets in.
Just in case... should I try BT3? I've read I would need to install some drivers tho

Yeah, I have the same problem as OP. It works all fine but the injections is just failing all the time

Same problem here. Strange since the release notes say the rtl8187 has been patched for injection. Clearly it's not.

Same problem with my card. I have a canyon cnp-wf518 card with rtl8187 chipset. Allegedly pre BT4 version offers much better and more stable driver. Left us to wait and hope.
