There's something fishy about the 5k line of chips - mine used to work just fine, now it will neither work on my persistent install nor on an original image of bt4b booted from USB. Initially it'll run aireplay-ng -9 just fine, show injection, be happy, even smile at me on occasion (depending on the number of drinks consumed). However, when put into practice against my AP it will not inject for its life, nor will it pass the -9 tests (all come back @ 0%). I blame gremlins, or possibly some failsafe. Best part is, given the intermittency of the problem between different users, its rather hard to pinpoint where injection fails. Has anyone tested injection on the pre-final of BT4?

I spent whole night trying to crack WEP of my AP with BT4 pre-final and Intel 5100... but without success...

has anyone been able to get packet injection to work succesfully with the intel 5100 agn and if so what did you do?

while googling for hours i found this

    hxxp://xxx.superkato.net/2009/03/16/injection-tutorial-fur-intel-wi-fi-link-5100-ubuntu/

its in german so i used google translate to english

this seems to be a working process but im pretty confused by it

hope some genius can take this and make sense of it to help the rest of us

    Hello,
I am trying to make aircrack-ng work on my environment.
I have a Sony Vaio with a Intel 5100 wifi card that is capable of injection.
I am using LiveCD : wifiway 1.0 that has the patched driver for intel 5100.
I am flowing step-by-step the the tutorial "aircrack-ng : Simple WEP Crack"

My problem is that the "injection test" and the "fake authentication" are working perfectly but only on the first call.
After a couple of tests it seems that test AP is not accepting anymore my "requests".An because of this is not accepting enough good data packets to start the aircrack-ng on that output.

Here you have my specific commands :

    Steps :
    --------- #airmon-ng stop mon0
    ----------#airmon-ng start wlan0 1
    ----------#iwconfig
    wifiway ~ # iwconfig

Upgrade to BT 4 Pre-Final. I am pretty sure we are not supporting BT 4 beta anymore.
To be successful here you should read all of the following.

I had a hard time at first because I was trying to use the wlan0 for injection. You should use mon0 and it will work fine.

One thing I still can't get to work is the CUDA. Whenever I try to install it (bash CUDA_INSTALL) it tells me -o is not a dpkg option. I have a 9800M GT .
    Hi White,

Could you please tell what was the method that you followed to get ur 5300 workin in your system..please let me know

    Thanks,
    Raqeeb
