hi all,

first post to this forum ...

i recently upgraded to beta 2 of the aircrack-ng suite ...

when I attempt to crack an airolib-ng db, using:
aircrack-ng -r dbname file.cap

the software exits immedidately, with no error messages?

using the wpa.cap file and the passphrases db in the /test/ folder,
everything works fine

but when i attempt to import the password and essid into a db
of my own creation, and then run aircrack, same result ...

does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Before cracking a wpa/wpa2 password with a database you have to tell airolib-ng to compute the password and essids which you have inserted into it (this can take a long time depending on the number of the passwords and essids). To batch your database run the following command:
airolib-ng <dbname> --batch

This was all done. I have used aircrack-ng 0.9 to decode numerous airolib-ng db's previously. But, as I said in the post, I upgraded to BETA 2.

The -r option will process the passphrases.db .. but when I apply it on a database of my own making, after reading the packets in the .cap file,
it terminates before testing the keys!?

The stats on my db are exactly the same as any other db. But it just bombs out. Very weird ...

yes i know this... i have done all that.. including --cleanup and --verify.
and it works fine with the passphrases.db included in the aircrack/test folder

even when i add to this database

but when i create a database, --import my own passwords & essids and, of coursej
--batch it, aircrack just exits

Here is the sequence I used with a cap file, containing WPA2 handshake from local
coffee house:

airolib-ng crack.db --import passwd passwords.lst // small passwd list incl. correct pwd

airolib-ng crack.db --import essid essids.txt // small essid list incl. correct essid

airolib-ng crack.db --batch
airolib-ng crack.db --clean all
airolib-ng crack.db --verify all
airolib-ng crack.db --stats

here is the stats output:

There are 3 ESSIDs and 2 passwords in the database. 6 out of 6 possible combinations have been computed (100%).

ESSID Priority Done
Stir Crazy 64 100.0
Harkonen 64 100.0
default 64 100.0

Looks good, right? Pass is in there and essid (Stir Crazy) too. So, I run

aircrack-ng crack.db -r crack.db Stir.cap

and it worked!!! Amazing ... ok i can only conclude that the correct essid is was not in
there...

i face the same problem
iam using aircrack last version : Aircrack-ng 1.0 rc3 r1519
and sqlite3 last version : 3.6.13

all steps of creating DB and computing and batch and verify working good
also the test DB+handshak working good

i creaded new handshake and test with exist test DB and i face the the problem

then tested the Test handshake wpa with my new DB and face the same problem
